Abstract

The desaturated D-15 test ( D-15-d) is a more sensitive ver­sion of the Farnsworth D-15 and permits the rapid detection of axes of chromatic confusion. The high level of precision and specificity required by the Lanthony D-15-d render it a suitable screening test for colour vision anomalies in a work­ place. The objective of this study was to evaluate the relia­bility of the Lanthony D-15-d among a population of 62 sub­jects not previously exposed to known ophthalmotoxi agents. The rest was administered once a week for four weeks to each subject, always on the same day at the same time. No sig­nificant differences were observed between results obtained
for right and left eye testing over the four-week period. The chromatic confusion index increased significantly with age. These results confirmed the reliabilty of the Lanthony D-15-d test.
