The Effect of Contact Lens Wear on Contrast Sensitivity

Ever have the contact lens wearer who subjectively reports poor vision but objectively "checks out"? The qualitative visual response just doesn't seem to be supported by the quantitative findings. Is there more to seeing than the old standby — a Snellen acuity of 6/6? Perhaps these next few pages, describing an innovative and practical way to evaluate the quality of vision, will allow a better understanding of the plight of these patients with vague but very real complaints.
