Use of the Canon R-1 O Autorefractor in Clinical Optometry

During a period from April through July 1986 a Canon R-10 Aurorefractor was used in oculo-visual assements of 260 children in a day care center and an elementary school. The 84 day care center children ranged in age from under I to 5 years, while the elementary school children's ages ranged from 5 to 11 years. In a separate program in Jamaica, during this same period a Canon R-10 was also employed in the oculo-vision assessment of 179 persons of ranging in age from 6 to over 70 years of age. The findings of these two clinical programs are reported in this paper.
