Abstract

The Charles Bonnet syndrome is observed clinically mainly in the elderly person with decreased visual acuity. This syndrome is characterized by the presence of visual hallucinations in a person not having psychological problems. It is important to recognize this syndrome, to differentiate it from other clinical conditions accompanied with visual hallucinations, and to counsel adequately the person affected.
